Principal of the Day? Me?

Today was most certainly and extra-special day! I participated in Round Rock ISD's annual Principal of the Day program at Deep Wood Elementary and had the time of my life. I shadowed the real authority, Principal Meredith Perkins and Assistant Principal Therese Wafford, and was wowed by not only the wonderful work the students were doing, but by the personal attention given to each child by all the staff. And, oh...being around all those kids just warmed by heart.
I also enjoyed a wonderful lunch and had the privilege to hear Superintendent Dr. Jesús H. Chávez proudly speak of the great strides in education being met in Round Rock schools. And, I'm telling you....seeing is believing. Deep Wood Elementary is a sensational school!
It is truly a great thing to be a student in RRISD...and a principal, if only for a day.
